Hands-on course - Transperineal prostatic biopsy with local anesthesia

A biópsia da próstata ecoguiada por via transrectal representa um dos procedimentos urológicos mais comuns, tendo sido o padrão para o diagnóstico do cancro da próstata desde a década de 1980. No entanto, a incidência de infecções do tracto urinário, por vezes graves, associada a taxas crescentes de resistência a antibióticos, fazem com que o risco associado a este procedimento se tenha elevado e, portanto, que se repense a sua realização. A biópsia da próstata por via transperineal oferece uma alternativa à abordagem transrectal: por ser realizada por via percutânea evita a passagem da agulha pelo recto, o que fornece ao paciente uma via mais segura para a biópsia. Para além disso, permite a obtenção de amostras das zonas anterior e apical da próstata, evidenciando melhoria na taxa de detecção de cancro em vários estudos publicados. O desenvolvimento da técnica que permite realizar este procedimento sob anestesia local e em contexto de ambulatório faz com que se torne no actual padrão já recomendado nas guidelines internacionais. Assim, propomo-nos a realizar um curso com componente prática em doente para aqueles que pretendam iniciar ou desenvolver a técnica de biópsia ecoguiada por via transperineal da próstata sob anestesia local. 2nd Masterclass - Extraperitoneal robotic prostatic surgery

In this masterclass of extraperitoneal robotic prostatectomy, residents and urology specialists will have the opportunity to learn the various surgical steps of radical and simple prostatectomy. The training consists of being in the operating room in the area of the robot console and watching a radical prostatectomy for cancer and a simple prostatectomy for benign prostatic hyperplasia. The operating room of the CUF Tejo robotic surgery has two areas separated by glass, one for the robot console and one for the surgical and anesthesia table. This way the trainees will have direct access to the robot's console where the surgeon is. In addition to live surgical training, trainees will have an opportunity to discuss the surgical techniques observed with the specialists and answer their questions. TARGET The masterclass is intended for residents and specialists of urology wishing to extend their knowledge concerning extraperitoneal robotic prostatectomy and improving their practical skills. Robotic or laparoscopic simple prostatectomy with prostatic urethra preservation

Radical prostatectomy using an extraperitoneal approach has been shown to recover faster and with less pain in the postoperative period than the intraperitoneal approach. For this reason, extraperitoneal prostatectomy is the most correct approach to be performed on an outpatient basis. The purpose of this webinar is to teach the different steps of extraperitoneal robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy performed by multiport and single port with the visualization of two semi live surgeries performed by very experienced surgeons. In addition, webinar attendees will have the opportunity to discuss with the speakers the advantages and disadvantages of the two robotic systems for surgery.
